Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
liSTE ("liSTE", "we", "us") connects clients with trusted beauty and wellness providers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with the laws of the regions we operate in, including Canada (PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25), the United States (including the CCPA/CPRA), the European Union (GDPR) and Australia (the Australian Privacy Principles).
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email, phone number, password and (where required) date of birth.
- Profile information: photos, service preferences, saved addresses and, for providers, business details, services, pricing and verification documents.
- Bookings and messages: appointment details, in-app chat, and reports or disputes you submit.
- Guardian bookings: where you book on behalf of a dependent, the dependent's first name and date of birth, together with your consent confirmation.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: app version, device type, and basic diagnostics.
- Approximate location or the service area you set, used to show nearby providers and to apply regional rules.
Payments
Card payments are processed by our payment partner (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and bookings.
- To process payments, payouts, refunds, taxes and loyalty points.
- To enable in-app masked calling so your real phone number is never shared with the other party.
- To verify provider identity, insurance and licenses where required for regulated services.
- To send booking updates and, if you opt in, reminders and offers.
- To keep the platform safe, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Masked calling & contact privacy
Calls placed between clients and providers are routed through a masked proxy number. Neither party sees the other's real phone number, and call metadata is retained only as needed for support and safety.
4. Sharing your information
We share information only as needed to run the service: with providers you book (limited to what is necessary to deliver the service), with service partners (payments, messaging, email, and gift-card fulfilment), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Regional rights & residency
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing. We record your intended region so the appropriate rules apply to your account.
- Canada (PIPEDA / Quebec Law 25): access and correction rights, consent management, and breach notification.
- United States (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale/sharing (we do not sell data).
- European Union (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection.
- Australia (APPs): access and correction, and complaint handling.
You can exercise these rights in the app under Privacy & Data, or by contacting us using the details below.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
7. Security
We use technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
8. Children
liSTE accounts are for adults. Appointments for minors must be booked by a parent or guardian through our Guardian Booking flow, with explicit consent.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page, with an updated date above.
